Hearth and Hamlet Endgame Guide After the Last Quest

Hearth and Hamlet endgame currently stops after the last quest. You can idle forever with nothing to buy. One Challenging player wanted a longer army-and-peace

8/20/2026 Last updated: 8/20/2026

Last verified: August 20, 2026 — Hearth and Hamlet full release on Steam (app 4315040, launched August 19, 2026). Demo numbers are not treated as live data.

After you finish building the empire, the campaign stops. Full-release footage ends on Castle → crown a king and queen → “Live in peace and prosperity.” One 100% run was close to 8 hours with a single defeat. You can keep the save running after that; players say currencies just max out. There is no confirmed infinity mode with new goals.

What players report after the credits pressure

ReportDetail
Challenging 100%, ~10.5 hoursGood game for the price; wished they started Insane; after the empire it just ends
Follow-upYou can keep playing forever but nothing left to buy; currencies max out
Another playerExpected an incremental-style infinity mode to admire the town
Medium difficulty complaintToo many late waves, upgrades too expensive, trade wages too high, food drops fast, soldiers melt

Official store still sells the loop as relaxing and paced “on your terms.” The full release clearly has a late combat spike (zombies, raids) before that quiet. The Cathedral upgrade is the documented counter for the zombie spike. See What to Do After Cathedral.

From Community Gameplay

  • The last quest button is the ending. Castle upgrade copy: a mighty castle that proclaims dominion; crown a new king and queen; extra gold storage. Completing “Live in peace and prosperity” plays the credits. (Kingdom Part 2, 3:26:43–3:38:35)
  • Playtime on a completionist run: about 8 hours, population in the thousands, one recorded defeat. (Kingdom Part 2, 3:38:35)
  • Late bottleneck is gold, then legendary blueprints, not a hidden extra map. Several runners said the last hour is waiting on gold while every other bar is full. (Campfire Kingdom, 2:04:10; Kingdom Part 2 throughout)
  • Steam Challenging 100% at ~10.5 hours matches that length band. The “please add infinity” posts are still wishes.

How to spend the last resources

If you still have buys left, order them by remaining quests, not by screenshot envy:

  1. Church → Cathedral if consecrated weapons are still gated.
  2. Roads / Town Square if sanitation is still docking income.
  3. Extra caravan research only if gold is actually the bottleneck and wages are not eating you. See How to Get Another Caravan.
  4. Soldier buffer for leftover High/Extreme raids. See How Many Soldiers Do You Need?.

If everything is already gold and the book is glowing with nothing affordable, you are in the idle tail. That is the current design.

Fairness and future patches

Launch-week news is the “OUT NOW” thank-you plus demo history. No endgame rebalance note is in that list yet. Complaints about late-wave density are on the hub for the studio to see. This page will not promise a DLC peace-arc. It will also not tell you the run is broken just because infinity mode is missing — Challenging 100% in 10.5 hours is a complete game for $8.
